Welcome to the West Florida Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution!

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, nonpartisan women’s service organization.  We are todays DAR!  We are an organization for the modern woman.  As we continue to pursue our founders’ original principles, we apply the values of our ancestors and build on the foundation of DAR’s founders to accomplish important work in a contemporary context.

The West Florida Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on February 8, 2014, in Destin, Florida and has grown to nearly 120 women.  We encompass women ages 18 – 100 from Destin and surrounding areas.

West Florida

During the Revolutionary War, West Florida extended along the northern Gulf Coast, from the Big Bend westward, past New Orleans. We are proud that this area was then as it is now; a home to many noble patriots who uphold the causes of our great nation, The United States of America.  We are honored to carry the original name of this area that has always been so rich in the history and legacies of Liberty.

Who are DAR Members?

They are women a lot like you, who come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from patriots of the American Revolution – any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join.

Daughters are vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation.
