Welcome to the West Florida Chapter, NSDAR!

Serving and celebrating the Emerald Coast

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, nonpartisan women’s service organization.  We are today’s DAR!  We are an organization for the modern woman.  As we continue to pursue our founders’ original principles, we apply the values of our ancestors and build on the foundation of DAR’s founders to accomplish important work in a contemporary context.

The West Florida Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on February 8, 2014, in Destin, Florida, and has grown to more than 120 women.  We encompass women ages 18 to 100 from Destin and surrounding areas.

West Florida

During the American Revolutionary War, West Florida extended along the northern Gulf Coast, from the Big Bend westward, past New Orleans. We are proud that this area was then as it is now, a home to many noble Patriots who uphold the causes of our great nation; the United States of America.  We are honored to carry the original name of this area that has always been so rich in the history and legacies of liberty.

Who are DAR Members?

Women, who are of lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolutionary War, come together by honoring our ancestors and serving our community.

Daughters are vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation.
